Two men have been charged with trying to defraud banks in Ireland of 30.5 million dollars (£21.8 million), police in Liverpool said last night. Mr Harold Morton, of Hightown, Liverpool, and Mr Wallace Ornstein, of Mill Hill, north London, both in their 50s, were charged with conspiring to defraud two banks.
