Twenty people, including 3 juveniles, have appeared in court in connection with a major Garda investigation into the trafficking of illegal drugs in Dublin.
The arrests were carried out as part of ‘Operation Klaxon’ a covert operation aimed at dismantling a number of drug distribution networks operating in the targeted areas.
Operation Klaxon was set up to gather evidence against major drug dealers and to ensure charges are brought against them. A number of suspects identified as “significant targets” are expected to face multiple charges of drug supply, a garda statement said.
Gardaí have arrested 40 people in the past 3 weeks in connection with the investigation which is focused on the sale and supply of heroin, crack cocaine and other controlled substances in Ballyfermot and Clondalkin.
