TV3 today announced the appointment of former features editor at Channel Four as their new head of programming.

The appointment of Ben Frow, latterly commissioning editor at Channel Five in the UK, has been described a coup by TV3 chief executive David McRedmond.

Mr Frow will lead the development of a new schedule with more Irish-made programming, Mr McRedmond said.

Mr Frow was at Channel Four at the height of British television's move towards scheduling higher budget versions of traditional daytime programmes at peak time.

Among the programmes developed by Mr Frow were Nigella Bites, How Clean Is Your House, Location Locationand Property Ladder.
