The former British intelligence agent at the centre of the Omagh bomb controversy has been forced to flee his home in the North after his identity was compromised in a television programme broadcast last week.

The ex-MI5 agent, known as "Kevin Fulton", has gone into hiding after UTV's Insight programme rebroadcast an interview with him which had been recorded in December last year. Although the interview did not reveal Fulton's identity, his own voice was clearly audible.

Within hours of the programme being broadcast, Fulton had fled his home after he was identified in a shop by a stranger who recognised his voice. It is not known where he is.
