Tuskar air crash findings in month

A report into the downing of an Aer Lingus Viscount in 1968 should be completed within a month, the Minister for Public Enterprise said yesterday. Ms O'Rourke said it was unlikely to end the 30-year saga. Asked on TV3 if the report would answer the questions surrounding the crash, the Minister said it had become more difficult over the years to ascertain what happened. "So I don't know what will come out of it. My aim was that it would be a thorough review," she said.

The aircraft crashed near Tuskar Rock off the Wexford coast killing all 61 on board in 1968. It has been alleged that the British military was involved in bringing down the aircraft with a stray missile or drone aircraft.
