A judge has described working conditions in Dublin Circuit Criminal Court as "absolutely intolerable" and "dreadful". Judge Frank O'Donnell halted a sexual assault trial in the Chancery Street section of the Four Courts in Dublin to allow the jury to get some air and said the heat in the room impacted upon the court's duties.

His comments came two weeks after Judge Kevin Haugh described conditions in the same court as "inhuman" and "disgusting".
