Two men were shot in leg last night in Belfast in what the RUC is describing as a paramilitary-style attack. The incident happened when three masked men burst into a flat in the Mount Vernon area of the city. Both men, who are in their 20s, were shot in once each in the thigh.

In a separate incident a 20-year-old man was shot in the leg after an attack in the Whitehall estate in Bangor.

Elsewhere a 19-year-old man was injured when two masked man with baseball bats broken into a house in Tullycarnet area of East Belfast last night.
