The trade union Mandate and three of its members, who had provided security at the home of former kidnap victim Don Tidey, yesterday undertook before the High Court not to place pickets. Mr Anthony Burke, Belmount, Greystones, Mr Paul Duggan, Bayview Rise, Killiney, and Mr Martin Boland, Hillgrove Grove, Perrystown, Dublin had, with two others, provided security at Mr Tidey's home until last week. The five were all employees of Tesco Ireland which, with the agreement of Mr Tidey, decided earlier this year that security was no longer required.

Negotiations were held with the five security workers and redundancy terms were agreed with two. No agreement was reached with the remaining three and their case is before the Labour Court. Last Friday, Mr Tidey secured an interim order restraining any picketing of his home at Silchester Road, Glenageary.
