Three men are recovering in hospital in Northern Ireland after a paramilitary-style attack in Co Antrim last night.

A spokesman for the Police Service of Northern Ireland said the three men were walking along Station Road, Greenisland, just outside Carrickfergus when they were approached by five men, armed with handguns who forced them into a white van.

They were taken to the rear of Ards Drive in Monkstown before being shot. Each man was shot once in the calf.
