Three men with links to a Limerick gang remain in custody after being arrested yesterday.

A handgun and a number of balaclavas were recovered following the arrests in the Co Limerick village of Bruree yesterday morning.

Garda sources said the arrests followed a surveillance operation that was under way for more than a month.

The three, who are all in their early twenties, have links to a southside gang involved in a feud with a northside faction, according to sources.

All three men are being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
