Three men have been killed in incidents on Irish roads over the past 24 hours.

Three men have been killed in incidents on Irish roads over the past 24 hours.

Gardaí in Co Leitrim are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 38-year-old pedestrian who was knocked down at Hilly Road, Hilly Road, Drumshanbo at about 10.30pm.

Gardaí suspect he may have been the victim of a hit-and-run.

The man's body remains at the scene and the road has been closed for investigation. Traffic diversions are in place.

In Co Mayo, a man (67) was killed in a two-car collision at Barrack Street in Charlestown at about 10.45pm. He was taken to hospital in Castlebar where he was pronounced dead.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to contact them. The road has been closed for a forensic investigation.

Yesterday evening, a 19-year-old motorcyclist was injured in a crash on the Shelling Hill Road in Cullybackey in Co Antrim. He died later in hospital.

It is not thought any other vehicles were involved.
