A seven-year-old boy and two men (aged in their 20s and 30s) have died following separate road traffic collisions in Wexford, Longford and Limerick today.

The boy died after being struck by a 4x4 on the Main St, Clonroche, Co Wexford shortly before 11am.

He was taken to Wexford General Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

The crash happened between the Rooskey roundabout and Newtownforbes on the N4 at Clonart, Bornacoola shortly after noon.

Gardaí have carried out a forensic investigation into both incidents and the roads have reopened to traffic.

Early this evening a man in his 20s died when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car.

The collision happened at Carrigeen, Croom, Co Limerick at 4pm.

The driver of the car was taken to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital as a precaution.

The scene has been preserved and Gardaí are carrying out a forensic investigation.
