Three injured in separate North gun attacks

A man is recovering in hospital this morning after being shot in a late-night attack in Belfast.

A man is recovering in hospital this morning after being shot in a late-night attack in Belfast.

He was sitting in a car at Moltke Street in the Donegall Road area of the city when a gunman approached and fired a number of shots into the vehicle.

He was hit a number of times and taken to hospital for treatment where he was later described as being "ill but in a stable condition".

A second male who was in the front passenger seat was also taken to hospital and was treated for minor injuries.

In Coleraine, Co Derry, a man in his early twenties was shot in a paramilitary-style attack.

Two masked men forced their way into a house at Deaneshill Road in the town and shot him in each ankle and a knee.
