Three men have been arrested following a shooting in Dublin early this morning.
A Garda spokesman said two men were standing in the doorway of a house in North Circular Road at about 2.00am when a shot was fired at them from a shotgun.
One of the men suffered a gunshot wound to his upper body. The second man, who is not believed to have been hit by the shot, received a head injury while evading the attack.
Neither man is said to be in a life-threatening condition.
Detectives from Fitzgibbon Street arrived on the scene in a patrol car and chased the suspected attackers on foot.
Two were arrested in Simmon’s Place, while the third was later captured in Healy Street by gardai assisted by the Air Support Unit.
The spokesman said the scene has been preserved for a technical and forensic examination.
The three men are being held at Store Street and Mountjoy Garda stations under Section 30 of The Offences Against The State Act. Two are aged 20 and the third man is 18.
