Three held in UK as baby is found unharmed

The infant was left at his great-grandmother's home by a group of travellers in the early hours of this morning, his grandmother said.

Nelly Connors was speaking after police revealed they had located the caravan in Cheshire, but without the youngster who had disappeared from a travellers' site in Nottinghamshire.

She said: "It looks like the people who stole the caravan must have known our family and they have dropped little baby John at his great-grandmother Margaret's home.

"I know three men have been arrested and baby stuff was found in the caravan so it must be John who's down at his great-grandmother's."

Mrs Connors said the travelling community in which she lived was so tightly knit it was likely that whoever had taken the caravan would have known where other family members lived
