Three men in their twenties have been charged with public order offences following disturbances in Dublin’s Temple Bar early this morning.

Gardai were called to the scene at 2.15 a.m. after one man who had been chased by a group of others took refuge in a nightclub in the area. When gardai asked the men to disperse they became aggressive, a garda spokesman said.

Four men were then arrested and brought to Pearse St garda station where three of them were charged with public order offences. One of the three was also charged with possession of a knife.

All three have been released on their own bail and are to appear in court on September 3rd.

A fourth man was taken to hospital with facial injuries and is expected to be charged later.
