A masked gang escaped with just over £60 after assaulting a 70-year-old man in Poyntzpass, Co Armagh. The man's fingers were squeezed with vice grips to force him to disclose where he kept his money. Only when his assailants threatened to kill his dog did he hand over the money. RUC Chief Insp Stephen Day said the victim had suffered a "terrifying ordeal".
