Bangkok - Thailand said yesterday there was no need to investigate the killing of 10 Burmese hostage-takers, despite warnings by EU envoys that its image had suffered from claims the men were executed by special forces.

The Thai Foreign Minister, Mr Surin Pitsuwan, said Thailand had already explained its actions last month, despite persistent reports some of the Burmese were shot execution-style after surrendering to Thai commandos at a hospital west of Bangkok.
