Ten people died when arsonists set fire to a cafe in an industrial town in Russia's Urals region, Russia's prosecutor-general said today.

An explosion at midnight ripped through a cafe made from corrugated iron sheets in a market in the town of Orsk. It destroyed the cafe and set fire to the market.

Orsk is an industrial city of around 250,000 people lying at the southern tip of the Ural mountains near the border with Kazakhstan.
