A teacher has brought a High Court challenge aimed at quashing an interim report of an investigation set up by the HSE into an allegation she mistreated a student.

Patrizia Vacca, Olcover, Shankill, Co Dublin, who began employment at Enable Ireland School, Sandymount, Dublin, in 2007, yesterday secured leave, via her counsel Marguerite Bolger, to bring the judicial review proceedings. Leave was granted on an ex parte (one side only) basis by Mr Justice Micheal Peart. Ms Bolger said her client was suspended in May 2010 pending the outcome of an investigation, following a complaint by a special needs assistant working in the school that Ms Vacca had mistreated a student.
