The Taoiseach has expressed his support for a fund-raising dinner organised by the Republic's grocers which raised more than £10,000 for the Omagh Relief Fund. In a message which was screened to 1,000 guests at the event in the RDS last night, Mr Ahern welcomed those who had travelled from Omagh, particularly families of the victims, business people, civic and medical personnel.
