A 22-year-old forklift driver from Tallaght won nearly £1.5 million in the midweek Lotto. The man, who does not wish to be named, collected his cheque yesterday. He told the National Lottery he has a girlfriend, a nine-month-old baby and a mortgage. The mortgage will be paid off immediately.
The man also told the lottery he called his employer. According to a statement, he said: "I called the boss this morning and said, `I won't be coming into work this morning - or ever again! I've just won the Lotto'."
