The Government is to meet the ICTU and the business representative group, IBEC, on Monday to discuss public sector pay. The meeting comes as the Government is facing possible industrial action by nurses, gardai and drivers in Dublin Bus.

A Government spokesman said last night it they was anxious to have another partnership programme and would be seeking feedback from the two sides on whether the process should continue beyond the current arrangement, Partnership 2000. The meeting will be attended by the Taoiseach, Mr Ahern, the Tanaiste, Ms Harney, and the Minister for Finance, Mr Charlie McCreevy.
