Taliban to allow supervision

Kandahar - Afghanistan's Taliban authorities have agreed to allow UN monitors to supervise the destruction of toxic poppy plants in Kandahar province in the first phase of a five-year programme to end all opium production in the 80 per cent of the country which the Taliban controls.
