Rail commuters in Dublin face delays this evening as some Dart services near Sutton have been suspended due to a fire.

Iarnród Éireann said trains were suspended between Howth and Howth Junction stations at the request of Dublin Fire Brigade.  The fire at a neighbouring site has not yet been extinguished, Iarnród Éireann said.

The company said Dublin Bus is accepting rail tickets for customers travelling to and from Howth, Sutton or Bayside. It advised customers travelling to these stations to transfer to Dublin Bus services at Raheny station.

It said the line will remain closed until 4.45pm at the earliest.

Iarnród Éireann apologised for the inconvenience caused.
