The army bomb disposal unit has declared the suspect package on Dorset Street a hoax. The road was reopened to traffic shortly after 6pm.
The alarm was raised following the discovery at around 4pm of the package in Dorset Lane.
The Army bomb disposal unit was called and traffic was diverted from the area.
Dorset Street has now been reopened to traffic.
