A suspect package was delivered to the American embassy in Ballsbridge earlier this morning, according to gardaí.
Gardaí were alerted after a package was delivered to the embassy at around 9 am.
The Army's explosives ordnance disposal (EOD) team was also contacted and arrived at the scene at 10.20 am.
The building was sealed off by Garda crime scene tape for a short while as the package was investigated.
No explosives were discovered and the embassy was given the all-clear at around12.20 pm.
