An Army bomb disposal team made safe an explosive device in Blanchardstown, Dublin, this morning.

An Army bomb disposal team made safe an explosive device in Blanchardstown, Dublin, this morning.

After being contacted by gardaí, the team arrived at Fortlawn Avenue at 9.25am and dealt with the device outside a private residence.

The remains of the device were handed over to the gardaí, and the scene was declared safe at 10.10am.

This was the 76th viable improvised explosive device dealt with by the Army this year.
