London - A British package holiday company is pulling out of the Dominican Republic amid growing concern over standards of health and hygiene at the Caribbean island.

The company, Inspirations, has taken 7,000 holidaymakers to the island over the past year but has indicated it is no longer willing to organise trips there. Hundreds of Britons have been taken ill there, suffering stomach upsets, and even typhoid and cholera.
