Ryanair says an investigation is continuing into what caused the loss of cabin pressure during a flight 11 days ago from Stansted to Knock.

Ryanair flight FR803 was forced to turn around and return to Stansted Airport 20 minutes into its journey on October 7th. Passengers on board the aircraft say that about 15 minutes into the flight air pressure in the plane suddenly dropped, the oxygen masks came down in front of them and the pilot announced the plane was returning to Stansted. Passengers claim they were given no explanation as to what had happened to cause the emergency. Airport emergency crews were on the runway at Stansted when the plane landed. No one was injured and passengers were accommodated on a replacement plane to Knock a few hours later.

"As soon as the investigation is completed we will be in a position to comment on the incident," Ryanair spokesman Mr Enda O'Toole said. An Irish Aviation Authority spokesman said that while it would be good practice for an airline to explain such an incident, it was not obliged to do so.
