Students challenge views on disabled

A schools competition on attitudes to the disabled has attracted entries from more than 1,400 students in 350 schools.

The national winners of the National Rehabilitation Board's "Challenging Images"; competition were announced yesterday by the Minister for Equality and Law Reform, Mr Taylor.

Causeway Comprehensive School in Co Kerry won the junior section, and St Mary's College, Dundalk, the senior section.

Students were asked to design and write a four page newspaper aimed at their own age group about issues that, affect people with disabilities.
