A judge has refused to change the regulations governing a 100-year-old street market in Ballinasloe

A judge has refused to change the regulations governing a 100-year-old street market in Ballinasloe. Ballinasloe Urban Council had sought to remove the market rights of calf dealers who trade at St Michael's Square each Saturday and have them transferred to the town's fair green.

Judge James O'Sullivan said he believed the market would be damaged if business was removed from the square.
