Colombo - Tamil Tiger rebels overran a police station in eastern Sri Lanka yesterday in an attack that left 23 people dead and sparked retaliatory air strikes by the military. Four Israeli-built jets bombarded Tiger positions hours after the rebels launched the pre-dawn assault against the Central Camp station in the island's east, the Defence Ministry said.
