The Tanaiste is concerned at Israel's decision to allow the expansion of Jewish settlements. In Brussels yesterday, Mr Spring said it was jeopardising the peace process by raising tensions with the Palestinians. He was speaking to MEPs in his address on security and defence to the European Parliament's Committee on Foreign Policy.
But he reaffirmed Europe's policy on the Middle East Peace Process and called on the parties involved to resume negotiations and restore momentum to the talks as delays undermined the long term prospects for peace.
