`Spirit of Gospel' call on immigrants

Irish people should receive immigrants and refugees in their midst in the spirit of the Gospel welcoming strangers, the Catholic Press and Information Office said yesterday in a statement. In Ireland at this time, the stranger should be received as Irish people in the past hoped to be received when forced to emigrate to earn a living, it said.
