Spanish bus drivers, who brought travel chaos to thousands of holidaymakers, have agreed to call off further strikes.

Their three-day strike this weekend disrupted the holidays of thousands of tourists in Majorca, Minorca and Ibiza.

A spokeswoman for the Balearic Institute of Tourism said the drivers have signed a new agreement with their employers.

They were striking over a pay deal but institute spokeswoman Ms Tiffany Blackman said it was not yet clear whether their demands were agreed.

She said: "They have guaranteed that there will be no more strikes in the Balearics.

"We don't know all the details yet, but the agreement was signed in Palma tonight after talks between the two main unions and the companies involved."

The deal, brokered in Palma in Majorca, extends to Majorca, Minorca and Ibiza, she said.
