Inter Milan are poised to launch a bid for Lazio's Argentine midfielder Juan Sebastian Veron, sources close to Lazio said today.
Veron (26) was cleared by the Italian federation on Wednesday of using deception to gain a false passport.
The sources said Inter had switched their attention from France international Patrick Vieira to Veron after the unsettled Arsenal midfielder confirmed this week he wanted to leave the London club but did not want to move to Italy.
"Veron's agent, Gustavo Mascardi, will fly to Rome from Miami on Monday to sort out his future," the sources said.
Manchester United are also interested in signing Veron.
