Sour note for music industry

The IBEC music industry group has expressed disappointment that the Budget does not improve the terms of the Business Expansion Scheme (BES) for music. The group's director, Mr Tommy McCabe, said that in its pre-Budget submission the group had outlined the difficulties experienced by bands and artists wanting to invest in their industry under the current BES rules. "The Minister has, in fact, reduced the overall limits of BES and has made it far less attractive for the music industry."
