A barrister has indicated the issue of whether counsel can represent people in court without an instructing solicitor may go to the High Court.

Judge Murrough Connellan at Wicklow District Court did not allow barrister Tom Flanagan to raise any matter in relation to a client other than to seek an adjournment yesterday. Mr Flanagan later said it was likely he would receive Bar Council instructions to take proceedings in the High Court on this matter.
