Interactive software company Superscape said today it had won a major contract from LEGO Media to develop game software based on the best-selling children's books about the boy wizard Harry Potter.

Superscape said it would also receive on-going royalties from sales of the new game which will enable children to build their own characters using Superscape's interactive 3D technology.

It is due for release in the autumn.

A company spokeswoman declined to reveal the size of the contract.

J.K. Rowling, who created the Harry Potter character, has sold over 60 million copies in 200 countries. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stoneis also being produced as a film opening in November.
