Three people were arrested at Rosslare port today following the seizure of ecstasy and amphetamine brought about by the work of a sniffer dog.

Customs officers seized 1,000 Ecstasy tablets and a small quantity of amphetamine powder, valued at €14,000.

The drugs were discovered in two sealed jars concealed in the petrol tank of a Polish registered Toyota car which arrived on the car-ferry from Cherbourg.

Drugs sniffer dog 'Dillon' assisted in the identification of the drugs.

Three Polish men, two in their twenties and one in his thirties have been arrested and are being held at Wexford Garda station.
