A Co Sligo man has pleaded guilty at the Central Criminal Court to sexually assaulting a male. He will be sentenced at a later date.
The 18-year-old man's guilty plea came after a jury had been sworn in for his trial and before the hearing began. He cannot be named at this time for legal reasons.
He had earlier pleaded not guilty to buggering the alleged victim and sexually assaulting him on or about August 1st, 1999, in Co Sligo. He was remanded on continuing bail.
Mr Justice O'Sullivan will hear evidence on the sentence date which will be set later when victim impact and other reports are available. The case will be mentioned on July 4th.
