BRITAIN:SINGER AMY Winehouse has been arrested on suspicion of assault after voluntarily attending a police station in London.

The singer had been asked to attend Holborn police station yesterday in relation to an incident in the early hours of Wednesday in Camden, north London.

During the alleged fracas, Winehouse (24) is said to have assaulted a man. Police yesterday confirmed a 38-year-old man claimed he was assaulted by a woman aged 24 in north London.

Her arrest coincided with a court appearance by her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil (25) at Snaresbrook crown court in east London.

He is accused of causing grievous bodily harm with intent to pub landlord James King of Risley, Derbyshire. A provisional trial date of June 2nd was set. He denies the charges.

It was revealed yesterday that Winehouse has amassed a fortune of £10 million (€12.7 million), according to the latest Sunday Times rich list, underlining her success, despite her turbulent life.
