Singer Shane MacGowan failed to appear in a London court to face a drugs charge yesterday

Singer Shane MacGowan failed to appear in a London court to face a drugs charge yesterday. The former Pogues front-man was granted bail in his absence until March 6th on a charge of possessing 1.10 grams of heroin powder.

London's Highbury Corner Magistrates Court heard that MacGowan (42) was arrested at his home in Hampstead, north London, on November 19th last year.
