Shots fired at Travellers' halting site

A number of shots were fired at a Traveller’s halting site in Rathfarnham, Dublin in the early hours of this morning.

A number of shots were fired at a Traveller’s halting site in Rathfarnham, Dublin in the early hours of this morning.

A Garda spokesman said a shot was fired at an empty van and two shots were directed at a caravan.

No one was injured during the incident, which happened at the site along the Firhouse Road just after midnight.

The gunman escaped in a waiting car.

Gardaí have yet to establish a motive for the attack.
