This is the second shooting incident in Cork this month. In a separate occurrence on October 5th a lone gunman pulled up on a motorbike outside the Macushla Bar on Blarney Street on the northside of the city.

The gunman warned people to stay away before he produced a sawn-off shotgun and fired at least one shot at a window in the bar. He then sped off in the direction of Shandon Street. Nobody was injured and gardaí were on the scene within minutes.
