Shooting of man not sectarian

A man was being treated in hospital last night following a shooting in a loyalist area of east Belfast

A man was being treated in hospital last night following a shooting in a loyalist area of east Belfast. The victim was shot twice in the upper body at around 10 p.m. in the Cregagh area of the city. Police arrested a man in connection with the attack, which they do not believe was sectarian.

The injured man was described last night as being "serious but stable" in the Royal Victoria hospital.
