London - Homosexual inmates in four British prisons were subjected to electric shock treatment in the 1950s, authorities revealed yesterday. The programme, financed by the Home Office, involved forcing 36 inmates to watch slides depicting men. If they failed to switch slides within eight seconds they received an electric jolt. A report claimed 25 showed a "positive" effect and were considered "less likely to indulge in homosexual behaviour" again.
