Gardaí have named the seven-year-old boy who was killed after he was struck by a bus in Thurles, Co Tipperary last night as David Ryan who was from the town.
It is understood the bus was being driven by the boy's father at the time of the incident which happened in the Loughtagala area at 7.30 p.m.
The bus is believed to have been reversing out of a bus wash at the family's home.
Gardaí are investigating the accident and a post mortem examination will be carried out.
