Germany - Seven people were shot and killed in Bielefeld, a west German town, last night by a man who apparently went berserk after his offer for marriage was rejected, police said.
A manhunt was under way early today for the killer, who, like the victims - four women and three men - was said to be of Kurdish origin.
Police said initial information suggested the man had opened fire on a family after the father of his would-be bride rejected his marriage offer. It was not immediately known if the woman in question was among those killed.
